Religion, what does this word mean? In my experience, religion teaches us to lead a life with inner peace within us and thankfulness to the Creator of humanity. There are around 1500 Religions in this world. Each of them describing a way to live life. All of which ask us to lead our lives as morally as possible. As far as my understanding of religions goes, no religion teaches us to do to inhumane things. Today what the world is facing, a war of religions. As the world developed money replaced moral values as the religion of the people. Politics being the real culprit behind it. As far as religion is concerned if someone is actually a follower of a religion he will naturally be a good human in spite of any amount of influence or pressure put on him to pick the immoral road. The whole thing of Jihad is not going on killing people. One of the most misunderstood and misquoted religious concept is the concept of Jihad. The Jihad as mentioned in the Quran doesn’t ask for a war to be waged on any human being let alone followers of other religions. Jihad in reality asks muslims to wage a war on their flaws, on their impurities, their flawed desires. The sad reality is that people killing in the name of religion don’t have an iota of knowledge of the religion they claim to be so passionately defending. First, potray your true adherence to religion. Show your morale values in the religion you follow and people will eventually get attached to what your religion potrays. So, my opinion is that religion surely ensures morality when followed properly with the right knowledge and not with politically motivated people or people with money ,who in their hunger for power poison with the idea that your religion asks you to kill the followers of other religion.. Religion today is a business for many. But for the true followers of religion their religion ensures morality in their lives.
